Welcome to this week’s

VIRTUAL GALLERY

“Bird of Paradise” Glasscape by Larry Le Brane

“Thank you very much for continuing your Virtual Gallery in Art Central’s blogs.

Here are 2 recent fused glass projects. The newest “Bird of Paradise” glasscape is just out of the kiln. It’s hand-painted fused glass with a resin protective coat, & wall-mounted metal display, 10” round. This flower is one of my favorites to draw or paint; they always seem to have personalities. So it was fun to try it as part of a fused glass design.

Thank you, Larry Le Brane

“Lady of the Storm” by Rachel Corvese 22″ x 30″ Oils & egg tempera on canvas

“This piece is the latest in the Goddess Collection, where I paint people who inspire me as the alchemists they truly are.”
– Rachel Corvese

“Library of Dormant Words” by Roberta Fountain

Acrylic and mixed media on canvas
overall 32″ by 40″ (4 canvases are pictured, each 16 x 20). This is part of a larger project in progress.

” STATIC ” by Steve Andrews
Acrylic on Canvas. 30″x24″
“This work is with multiple layers of Acrylic.
For myself it gave back the results that
I wanted, plus some wonderous surprises.
As (I say) wowsers. The best part is the
Fun that the art conveys. Still need to add the Varnish, as per  “Etty’s” secret mix.”
   Enjoy,  – Steve
“Dainty Sweetness” by Susan Kounanis
9×12
Oil on linen panel

“Good afternoon, I wanted to submit a couple of things that I’ve created during the pandemic. We all appreciate you guys keeping art alive! Thanks!” – Charles Bolin

“Welcome Spring,” Mixed Media, 12″ x 16.”
“Having longer days, more daylight & seeing green pop up everywhere motivated me to paint this new work in March. Hope you’re all enjoying nature all around our Central Coast this spring.” Thank you, Jay Bonestell
“I was in the store today buying a mini-canvas set, some inexpensive brushes, and a couple of Raymar drying boxes.  I’ve been stuck in a rut creatively and thought the mini-canvases might be a fun challenge just to get my creative juices flowing.  I decided to start with some acrylics before I dipped into my normal oils just to give it a go and did this one based on a picture I took while driving home on Orcutt road. It was so much fun!!! Thank you for the inspiration.  What an absolutely lovely idea.”

Children’s Classes with June Li:

“As a mother, I feel a special connection to children and supporting their creativity. It is so beautiful to share with them the world of possibilities of color, line, shape, and expression, watching their delight as they create something of their very own.
I know that during this time, kids and families are experiencing some of the most difficult times, with school being mostly online and parents juggling a lot more than ever before.
Painting and making art together can deeply help soothe the stress and anxiety of life, bringing balance, joy and wonder.
