HUGE THANKS to all of you who donated to our fundraiser. You helped us achieve our goal to fill our local food pantries and to get art supplies into the hands of disadvantaged children.
We raised a total of $1,800! – WOW!
All of your donations are going straight to fill our local “Free Little Pantries”!
AND we donated a van load of gift bags stuffed with art supplies
to give to local children from less fortunate families.

Here’s what you need to know about our Contest
Use our Mini canvases to create a mini-masterpiece and submit your artwork by April 28th.
All submissions must be on one or more of these tiny canvases 2.5×2.5″ or 2×3″. E-mail your mini creation to artcentralslo@yahoo.com. Include artist’s name, phone number, email, and Instagram (if you have one). In subject line, write “MINI-MASTERPIECE CONTEST”
SUBMIT YOUR MINI-MASTERPIECE FOR A CHANCE TO WIN!
1st prize – Chosen by Art Central employees $100 Art Central Gift Certificate
2nd prize – Chosen by Art Central employees $25 Art Central Gift Certificate

Do you have used art supplies or equipment you want to sell?
Take advantage of our Spring Cleaning VIRTUAL GARAGE SALE – we will post on MAY 14th!
Send us images of what you have to sell NO LATER THAN MAY 12th! Include a good description – size, condition, price, etc. Also include a way for the buyers to contact you. We will not handle transactions, and do NOT take any commission. All we do is connect buyers and sellers through our blog post. If you are uncomfortable having someone you don’t know come to your home you may use Art Central’s parking lot as a meeting place.

CALL FOR ARTISTS – Join our next Virtual Gallery Exhibit on May 7th
Here’s all you need to do to participate!
Send images of your recently created artwork to artcentralslo@yahoo.com with subject “Virtual Gallery Submission” & attach your image as a jpeg. Include your name, along with the title, medium & size of artwork. And although not required, we’d love a few words about your artwork or inspiring thoughts for our viewers!
CALL FOR ARTISTS – Four Sisters Ranch Vineyards & Winery

Four Sisters Ranch Vineyards & Winery in San Miguel is looking for artists to participate in a small art show to be held as part of the Wine Fest Weekend festivities.

Date: Saturday, May 22, 2021 Time: 11am-5pm Address: 2995 Pleasant Rd, San Miguel, CA 93451
Cost: none
Artists will display in a well ventilated, but enclosed event center on the gorgeous grounds of the winery. Live music will play from 12-3pm. Food truck on site from 12-4pm. Food and wine available for purchase. Each artist will be provided with 2 8’ tables and 2 chairs, but need to bring their own table coverings and display units.

The Gala Pride & Diversity Center is proud to accept entries for the 2021 PRIDE celebration for greater San Luis Obispo County. This years celebration will be celebrated virtually through multiple online venues. This year’s theme for the art show is: “Proud, Strong & United”
The show will Run April 30th-June 3rd at the Gala Pride and Diversity Center.

CALL FOR ARTISTS – Shell Beach Road Utility Box Project

GOAL: Shell Beach-themed art created by local artists.
Art must not cover or obscure identification Name Plate on the box.
Work to be completed summer 2021 (date yet to be determined).
Theme: Shell Beach
Submission sketches in full color with enough detail to communicate concept.
Finalists will be asked to create model-sized, to-scale replica in full detail, constructed from cardboard or other like material.

The May Flower Initiative is back by popular demand!
Launched during the first COVID shutdown in May 2020, The May Flower Initiative aims to bring hope to the community through art. In its second year, in 2021, the May Flower Initiative will bloom downtown
The initiative pairs local artists with downtown businesses and vacant storefronts to create beautiful floral window art for the public to admire.

NATURE SKETCHING: For the month of April on Tuesday mornings there will be a new Nature Sketching class where we will be drawing with a pen and using a little watercolor to depict subjects both from life and photographs. Brand new Class starting Wednesday, April 7th – Introduction to Procreate
Exciting news!!! Jason is launching an Introduction to Procreate class during the month of April. What is Procreate you ask??? It’s a program that you can use on your iPad that helps Artists sketch, paint & create.
Classes will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7pm – 8pm (pst) where the first half an hour will be lesson & questions. Then the second half hour will be a group sketch where you can try out your new skills.
