MEET THE ARTISTS!

You’re invited to our Artists Reception for

“SLOPE Honors Pristine Coastal Visions”

This Saturday, April 9th from 2-4pm

A portion of all painting sales from this exquisite exhibit will benefit the proposed Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary in moving from the nomination phase to being designated as a National Marine Sanctuary. SLOPE has chosen to contribute toward this process because of the many benefits to our central coast area in their goal to protect our beautiful coast. This will be accomplished through better water quality, protection of wildlife and sustainable fishing, prevention of oil spills through a ban on oil leasing, and development and protection of indigenous sites. Benefiting from the time-tested indigenous knowledge of coastal areas, a sustainable future for our coast will be insured. Join us this Saturday to learn more about the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary.

Members featured in this exhibit:
Dennis Curry, Jan French, Dotty Hawthorne, Sandi Heller, Daniel Jones, Laurel Sherrie, and Jim Tyler.
Participating Emeritus Members:
Bruce Everett, Tracy Paz, Rosanne Seitz, Denise Schryver, Libby Tolley, and Anne Laddon.

This bloom appeared on a throw-away succulent.  I set it aside, ignored it and it produced this lovely bloom.  As a reward, I’m keeping and nurturing it!

While we will discuss technique, our main focus will be on process and experimentation. There is no wrong way. Collage can be utilized as a mindfulness practice allowing you to release stress, be more present and satiate that creative urge. Join us as we explore minimalist, narrative, abstract and figurative concepts through the simple act of cut and paste.
