Artist trading cards (ATCs) are a conceptual art project initiated in 1997. ATCs are 2.5 by 3.5 mm in size, the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged, and collected by the people who participate in the collaboration. There are many websites and forums with ATC swapping going on; atcsforall.com is a very friendly site for artists and crafters of all abilities and experience levels.

Here are some of the reasons that you may want to try ATC creation

For those interested, William is looking to trade cards; his email is fahlacreator@gmail.com

“Fans” by Steve Andrews
22.75″x 32.75″ with 3.50″ projection, mixed/acrylic on steel parabolic dish.

“This Art work is my homage to Printmakers. The Fan is used at Press side by Printer and assistant. My deep respect to ALL workshops, Manufacturers (like Takach Press) of Printmaking supplies and special thanks to Educators (like Tamarind Institute) for the Artist a growth experience to collaborate with a Master Printer. Enjoy.” – Andrews

by Roxanne Rogoway

“Initially, I wanted to paint this message on the OUTside of my garage to remind everyday of the impact of art. I saw the future…and perhaps, not a pleasant one. I could see/hear my neighbors about me defacing my garage door on the alley. So I spray painted this message to my Self on the inside. I’m grateful for Martin Heidegger’s wise words. He argues that art is not only a way of expressing the element of truth in a culture, but the means of creating it and providing a springboard from which “that which is” can be revealed. Pithy words…The statements are worth re-reading again and again and exploring. Go paint…go spray paint…explore.”

– Vicky Hoffman

This very special exhibit is an artistic representation spotlighting a likeness, personality and mood of people and animals, the face of buildings and the beautiful landscapes that make the Central Coast a vibrant community!

Faces can be found along a hillside, imagined in clouds or a reflection from a pool of water. Graffiti, landmarks, horseback riding, ranching, surfing and other local sports are great examples.
