VIRTUAL GALLERY

18”x24” oil on canvas

11” x 9” dried-up hunks of paint and other found objects.
“These assemblages start with hunks of latex house paint that dried up in the can, and for some reason, several of them have pieces of foil from the neck of a bottle of Freixenet champagne. And then filled out with random other stuff, built into custom-made kitchen drawers.” – John Langdon

Acrylic 24”x30” Framed. “The fiery orange gives her a lot of presence and makes her feel vulnerable and seen as she contemplates the importance of life.”

Acrylic 16”x20”
“I wanted to have a lot of movement in the water, so I used a palette knife to show movement. I made her so we do not see her face, therefore a bit of a mystery.”
Acrylic paintings by Debra Piazza

Acrylic 12”x16”
“I wanted something bright and cheery, as there is hope. The red flower and her happy face of color, represent hope to me.”

Acrylic 12”x12
“Reminiscent of older times… the gold leaf represents the decadence of the time as she dressed to the nines.”

Acrylic 10”x20”
“I created movement with my brushstrokes. You can feel the wind in the trees and her dress”

Medium: Oil Paint Stick / Acrylic On Canvas
36″ x 18″
“The results given were a positive.
OIL Stick and Acrylic in multiple layers.
The shapes & depth was for me exciting.
I call it the Wowsers factor, as lots is happening. -Enjoy

Intuitive Painting with Acrylics:

Thursdays 1-4pm, beginning March 10th
$30/ class – $100/ 4 class pack
This is an explorative workshop, meant to expose the ideas in your mind, and express them on canvas. Artists of any skill level are welcome to join. We will paint with chaos, find patterns in our mark-making, and explore our creativity as we slowly recognize images in our creations. You can leave your piece abstract, or fine-tune an image that emerges with layers of acrylic paint. If you end up with an underpainting that leads to a meaningful project, you may finish at home or bring your pieces back and work on the same piece over multiple sessions.
~Required supplies: canvas or gesso board and your favorite big and small brushes.
~I will supply primary colors and black/white. If you have a favorite color you’d like to paint with, please do! All other supplies can be purchased from Art Central.

Attention Teachers!

Please start thinking about demos and workshops you’d like to teach at Art Central!
In the hope that Omicron will slow down and slink away, we’d like to begin organizing workshops and classes again. With everything still up in the air we don’t expect you to commit 100%, but let’s start talking! Let us know your thoughts.
We can always cancel classes if covid still remains a safety hazard, but we would like to start booking more classes for March and April!
