WORKSHOP: MIXED AND UNMIXED MEDIA
TUESDAY, MARCH 17th
1:30-4:30PM
Third Tuesday of each month
INSPIRATION AND EXPERIMENTATION
WITH ARDELLA SWANBERG
FEE: $25 (paid at least 5 days before each class)
Please contact me if you plan to attend! I need to know in advance so I can bring enough of the experimental supplies you will need.
Join me to get inspired and enjoy experimenting the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The goal of this class is to introduce ourselves to media and ideas we have never tried. Do you want to paint more freely, and to add pizzazz with confidence? One way to achieve this is to acquaint yourself with what different mediums can do. We don’t need brand new paper for this. We can start with covering over paintings that didn’t work or practicing on the backs of old paintings. Some of the things we will explore are texture, mixing pastel with gesso, stamping words or patterns, and adding a third dimension.
Bring an old painting or new paper and your painting supplies. We will add fabric and paper to our substrate that we first paint. I will bring some collage paper, music sheets, pieces of cloth, etc. If you have some cloth and paper scraps that you want to use, bring them!
